WOMEN AND FAMILIES

The goal of the Women and Families Program is to enhance the well-being of families and to provide specific services that are unique to women and families in particular. The program provides services that are geared to the family as a unit and targets families with information, programs, and services such as public education on healthy and active living, parenting, cultural sharing and self-empowerment, income security, conflict resolution, etc.

The program provides:

• Interactive group sessions for individual and group cultural sharing, mutual
• support and encouragement, knowledge exchange, and transfer.
• Mutual support and encouragement opportunities.
• Parenting programs.
• Referrals to community resources such as child care, income security,
• employment, and health services.
• Interactive activities such as field trips and community barbeques, physical
• activities, winter clothing drives, etc.
• Volunteer and community engagement opportunities.
